8:15 p.m update
NC State will remain in Condition 1 (Reduced Operations) until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9. The university will be open, but some operations may be reduced. During adverse weather and other emergency event conditions, employees should take reasonable precautions for personal safety. Please refer to the university’s adverse weather policy for more details.
The National Weather Service predicts severe weather for our area. Please monitor local media and/or weather apps as the storm approaches for the most timely safety updates.

- Please check the National Weather Center (https://www.weather.gov/) forecast throughout the day for the most up-to-date information on the storm.

- You are encouraged to check the status of outdoor events scheduled before coming to campus.
- Avoid being outdoors, especially near trees.
- Avoid driving in high water or flash flood areas.
