Hurricane Ian Updates

This page will be updated with storm-related information as it becomes available.

Thursday, September 29 — 5:00 p.m.

NC State Community:

NC State will operate under Condition 1 (Reduced Operations) beginning at 11 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, and extending through Saturday, Oct. 1. Classes will remain in session and the university will be open, but some operations may be reduced. Faculty have the flexibility to hold classes remotely. During adverse weather and other emergency event conditions, employees should take reasonable precautions for personal safety.

Faculty who have scheduled classes – but who are unable to report on a day when classes are being held – should make every effort to notify class participants in advance to the extent possible of class cancellation. Students who miss scheduled activities will be allowed to make up any work missed. Faculty members should make arrangements to complete all interrupted activities.

Refer to the university’s adverse weather policy for more details.

The National Weather Service predicts severe weather for our area. Please take it upon yourself to monitor local media and/or weather apps as the storm approaches for the most timely safety updates.
