NC State Adverse Weather Update
Safety Notice: Friday, Jan. 23, 2026 at 11:45 a.m.
In anticipation of winter weather forecasted to impact central North Carolina beginning Saturday, Jan. 24, NC State will operate under Condition 2 (Suspended Operations) from 2 p.m. on Saturday and extending through 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27. All classes on Monday are canceled, regardless of delivery method.
Events scheduled to begin after 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24 are canceled and the Wolfline will suspend operations at 4 p.m. Updates to the Wolfline schedule and operating status will be available on the Transportation website and via the Passio Go! App.
An update regarding the university’s operating condition on Tuesday will be communicated by 12 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26. Additional updates will be shared through WolfAlert, the university’s homepage and social media channels, should it become necessary. During adverse weather, employees and students should take necessary precautions for personal safety. More information on winter weather safety and preparation can be found on ReadyNC.gov.
Adverse Weather Safety Reminders
- Charge all cell phones, devices and charging adapters.
- Gather ready-to-eat and nonperishable foods like granola bars, fruit and bottled water, as on-campus dining hours may be impacted.
- Take precautions and read the warnings issued for your area regarding road conditions before traveling.
- Continue to monitor weather updates from the National Weather Service and local news outlets for the most up-to-date information.
- Remember the university resources available to students who need emergency housing, food or other items.
