Adverse Weather Safety Reminders
- Take precautions and read the warnings issued for your area regarding road conditions before traveling.
- Continue to monitor weather updates from the National Weather Service and local news outlets for the most up-to-date information.
- Remember the university resources available to students who need emergency housing, food or other items.
What does Condition 1 mean for you?
During Condition 1 (Reduced Operations), beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27, the campus community is encouraged to use discretion when deciding whether to attend class or come to work. While many may be able to attend classes or report to work without concerns, some may decide not to based on their individual circumstances. Before traveling, you are encouraged to read the road condition warnings for your area and make the decision that is best for your personal safety.
Below is more information:
- Students unable to attend an in-person class, should communicate that to their instructor. Per university regulation, students will have the opportunity to make up any missed work.
- Instructors have the flexibility to host classes virtually if they are unable to come to campus.
- Employees unable to report due to road conditions or safety concerns should make contact with their supervisor.
- Nonmandatory employees may be advised to stay home or to work remotely with supervisor approval; mandatory personnel should report to their workplaces.
If an employee is unsure whether they are considered mandatory or nonmandatory, please check with University Human Resources.
